This is the largest and most famous race track in Montana and boasts a grandstand capacity of four thousand people. This asphalt track comprises a quarter of a mile inside and three eighths of a mile outside. As a result, the turns tend to be very sharp, which really puts the skills of drivers to the test. The start and finish line are at the centre of a straight stretch that allows racers to build up plenty of speed before they tackle these tricky turns.

Intermountain Motor Sports Park

This drag strip can be found in Acton and hosts a large number of extremely fast paced races throughout the year. A large number of motor racers get their experience at the Intermountain Motor Sports Park before moving onto larger international tracks and the main races here never fail to attract large crowds of motor sports fans.

Mission Valley Speedway

This three eights of a mile high banked asphalt oval circuit is located in Polson and plays host to exciting races on Saturday nights. Both amateur and semi professional motor sports racers turn up here to show that they have what it takes to beat the competition and earn a place in the spotlight.

Lewiston Raceway

As the name suggests, this Montana race track can be found in Lewiston and is one of the state’s most popular asphalt drag strips. Like most drag strips, the action takes place over a quarter of a mile and two racers compete to be the first to cross the finish line and clock the fastest time possible in order to take home the trophy and earn bragging rights.

Of course, this is just an overview of some of Montana’s biggest and best race tracks. Other racing circuits that can be found in the state include the BMP Speedway in Billings, the Electric City Speedway and the Lost Creek Raceway at Anaconda. Races are regularly held at most of these race tracks and they are often open to people who want to join in the fun as long as they register in advance.
